Actually - upon further reading of the messages it seems I should be using the airlock at all times.

But here is another question - about that "Beer Machine" - first time I saw it was on an infomercial (which usually to me means - Stay Away!!) - but then I saw it in various retail shops. Does it work - really? I have talked to people who have said stay away - its a waste of money - it leaks, and you can't get any satisfaction from the manufacturer.
