All of
you light beer lovers wanting to take a step over
to the darker side will be very happy to hear of the
newest offering in early January from The Brew House:
Cream
Ale!
This beer
nicely bridges light lagers and full-bodied ales:
the malt bill is lighter than our discontinued 'Extra
Special Bitter' formulation making it less dark and
slightly drier; the hop profile has been toned down-great
for those wanting to experiment with beers that are
darker than standard lagers. It also makes a wonderful
'session' beer for the ale lover who doesn't want
to get weighed down with something big and hoppy.
Cream Ale
is a North American hybrid of Ale and Lager-traditionally
brewed warm (like Ale is brewed), then cold stored
(like Lager is stored).
Copper
to amber in colour, our Cream Ale has medium hop bitterness
and aroma. Although not as full in body as our Pale
Ale, this beer has a sweetness and depth sure to satisfy
a Lager lover looking for something more.
What
if I liked The Brew House ESB?
The addition
to the primary fermentation of a small amount of crystal
malt (for colour, in a mini-mash) with approximately
½ oz. of Noble British (Goldings) hops-your retailer
can order them from us at Spagnol's-will result in
a brew that closely resembles our old ESB style.
